West Windsor was once an
agricultural center, home to many potato, soy and
vegetable farms. While much of this heritage has
disappeared, there are still many active farms and
farmers in our region and surrounding counties, as well
as local producers of artisan foods. Inspired by this
living history, a committee of local volunteers launched
the West Windsor Community Farmers' Market in 2004, in
the hopes of bringing together New Jersey farmers and
food producers with local customers, and creating a
central gathering place for residents to spend their
Saturday mornings during the growing season.
