About Butter Lust Cakes

Butter Lust Cakes is a bakery focused on cakes and sweet treats for special days.

I started baking and cooking as a little kid - often showing up to school with brownie batter on my sleeves, and hiding frosting containers throughout the house. My great grandfather Vincenzo Portobello immigrated to Brooklyn from Italy, and operated his own trattoria for many years. His daughter, Rosalie (my grandmother and namesake), was the baker for the restaurant and made simple, wonderful desserts.

Since graduating from Johnson & Wales Culinary School - I've worked as a line cook, barista, pastry chef, and operations manager. I love the creative process of cake decorating, and making desserts for celebrations.
